How You Can Help: Material Needs
Grizzly Base Camp has a lot of equipment and program materials, but sometimes the camp just needs a pile of two-by-fours and a box of nails.
Both cash and in-kind donations to Grizzly Base Camp are tax-deductible for most people/organizations. We can provide Montana Council, BSA’s tax number as needed. Of course, you will need to consult your tax advisor for advice specific to your situation and donation.
FACILITY NEEDS
Used gun safe - needs to be capable of holding 10 air powered pellet rifles and air tanks/hoses. Ideally, we’ll be able to bolt it to the concrete in the pallet range’s floor.
Snowplow or regular plowing – The snowplow needs to fit a large Ford Bronco. We need help keeping the camp roads clear during the winter so we can continue to provide year-round availability of the camp.
Mountain bikes - 15-20 decent quality mountain bikes and tools to maintain them. We would like to provide a mountain biking program at Grizzly Base, as well as offering the opportunity for the various bike care requirements of the Bicycling merit badge.
Propane - Our next kitchen tank fill will be needed sometime during the summer of 2011. Bigfork Propane fills our tank. Donations would allow us to use those funds for other materials to improve the program and opportunities we offer at camp. We also have a tank for the shower house that has to be filled.
Lumber - A bunk of 2x4s and a bunk of 2x6s would be particularly helpful with our shower house remodel.
